Conflict
The first rock band that I belonged to was "Conflict", a short-lived but talented group of UMass Amherst students. We formed in the spring of 1977 for the sole purpose of doing one performance at a weekend festival in the Sylvan residence area. I was only a year or so into playing guitar by then, so I sat out some of the more challenging songs.
- Acid Queen
- Can't Find My Way Home
- Danny's Song
- Love Me Like a Man
- Walk Away
- White Rabbit
- Your Move - Rocky Mountain Way
Band Members:
- Linda Garfield, vocals
- Nancy Van Winkle, vocals
- Andy Mackler, bass
- Scott Heutteman, drums
- Justin Griswold, congas
- Bob "Bear" Beckwith, guitar
- Eliot Mayer, guitar
The concert was recorded on a cassette tape, which held up surprisingly well for 49 years until it was transferred to digital format. I used a Klim K7 cassette player, which copies tapes onto an SD card. It produced one file per side, which I then seperated into individual tracks using Reaper DAW.
